Unknown Manufacturer
Drop Shutter
- c. 1885
Notes: This
drop shutter was associated with a
Scovill
Mfg. Co. Dry Plate Outfit B (5x8). It has a square
opening, rather than the curved-end opening that is more common.
Scovill catalogs of the era mention "instantaneous drop (wood)" in a
section of "Outfits for Instantaneous Photography", and it is likely
that this is an example of one, but the catalogs do not show what wood
drop shutter looks like.
