Richard Morrison/Scovill Mfg. Co. (New York, NY)

Morrison's Wide-angle View Lens, Variation 4 (no flared end, no lens hood),  c. 1885-c.1900's

Catalogue No. 7, T.F. Indermill, (St. Joseph, MO), 1 Oct 1885, p. 92

Notes:

The Morrison's Instantaneous Wide Angle Lens is advertised on the same page as the Morrison's Wide Angle View Lens Variation 4, but whereas there is an engraving to show us what the Wide Angle View Lens looked like, there is no corresponding engraving for the Instantaneous Wide Angle Lens.

The Instantaneous Wide Angle Lens only had four offered focal lengths, whereas the Wide Angle View Lens had ten.

The lens sometimes is found with its original, well-made, leather-covered cardboard lens cap.
